Angie specializes in holistic wellness to promote the 3 Pillars of Health: Physical, emotional and energetic wellbeing. She is a nurse with 25 years combined experience in leadership, clinical care, lifestyle medicine and integrative therapies. Working with hundreds of students and clients has clearly demonstrated how engaging in proactive self-care + physical/emotional/energetic balancing can truly support wellbeing.

Nursing is a profession deeply rooted in the tradition of caring and healing. While contemporary health care has created obstacles that often make it difficult to provide the preventative, supportive and lifestyle-based care individuals are yearning for, Angie expertly weaves mindfulness and energy practices into her workshops and classes. Angie has trained with some of the top Qigong instructors in the US, including Spring Forest Qigong, Roger Jahnke and Lee Holden, and is a certified Qigong Instructor. She is also an Eden Method Clinical Practitioner, a modality based on Traditional Chinese Medicine. In addition, Angie trained with Zacciah Blackburn, founder of the Institute of Sound Healing, and s a certified Biofield Tuning Practitioner.

Interpreting our bodies quirky messaging system requires both practice and patience – like learning a new language or how to play the piano. Fortunately, our bodies were designed with a remarkable energetic blueprint, which allows each of us to tap into our inner wisdom to promote balance and prevent illness.

Qigong

“Qi” is understood as life force energy and “Gong” means to cultivate. Qigong is rooted in Traditional Chinese Medicine and is a mind-body practice, much like yoga. Qigong’s gentle movements stretch ligaments, release muscle tension and work to harmonize the body. Specific movements support Qi flow through the meridians, boosting energy and oxygen in each body system (respiratory, immune, cardiovascular, etc.) to optimize wellness.

Guided Imagery

Guided imagery uses the power of imagination to repattern thoughts and mental images. This modality can help to de-stress the mind in minutes and is also useful strategy for maintaining resilience. During guided imagery, clients’ thoughts are gently “guided” toward a desired goal. Guided imagery is widely used within nursing and has been shown to help relieve stress, anxiety, depression, insomnia and more.

Sound meditation

Sound meditation is often compared to savasana, with the goal of providing a deep sense of release and relaxation while also allowing a felt sense of support. Sound meditation is efficient and effective at fostering physical homeostasis, mental clarity, emotional harmony and energetic coherence. Working with sound on a regularly basis promotes mind-body-spirit balance, as we continually navigate the ups and downs life.
