Seasonal Wellness: Making Winter Wonder Full

  • Yoga Sanctuary 100 West 46th Street Minneapolis, MN, 55419 United States (map)

In this Seasonal Wellness Workshop:

I will share information and energy healing techniques (tapping into the body’s energetic systems including meridians, chakras, aura, etc.) founded on principles of Chinese Medicine.

You will connect with your innate healing ability through gentle touch, stimulating acupressure points and other hands-on exercises and techniques.

Based on Ancient Chinese Medicine, the Five Seasons or Elements reflect a rhythmic pulse of all life that influence human events and cycles.

In January, we will be in the depths of Winter, which corresponds with the water element, the kidney and bladder organs and emotions related to fear and child-like awe.

From a physical perspective, the kidneys and bladder require proper rest and relaxation to maintain health. if you have ever experienced an Urinary Tract Infection (UTI) causing pain and hesitation and you try to “just relax” in order to urinate, you are familiar with the energetic imbalance of this energy! While the bladder acts as a storage vessel for liquid waste, it is also heavily involved in the production of urine, in partnership with other organs. Similar to the small intestine, the bladder must separate “pure” from “impure.” Bladder’s partner, kidneys, are also involved in urine production and excretion, and kidneys play an additional and critical role in the body - they support homeostasis by controlling the volume and composition of the blood.

Each organ has an additional role within resilience and wellness: The kidneys (Yin organ) hold our ability to feel a sense of safety in our bodies and life, while the bladder (Yang organ) is associated with transformation

Emotionally, the Kidneys coincide with hope, depth and shock, while the Bladder is associated with our ability to remain curious and invite child-like joy into our lives (versus becoming suspicious or frozen in fear).

Would you like to flow through the seasons with more grace? Do you want to build resilience in mind, body and spirit and have fun doing it!?

The 5 Rhythm Model is a year-long series offered with the seasons to provide a lens for understanding and working with chronic health issues, behavioral patterns and emotional challenges.
