“Energy” is understood as the vital life-force, qi or prana that feeds each organ and body system (respiratory, immune, etc.). Its proper flow and balance is critical for wellness.

The 5 Rhythm Model, one of the nine systems within the Eden Method (based on ancient Chinese medicine), reflects a rhythmic pulse of all life that influences human events and cycles.
Also known as the 5 Seasons or Elements, this energy flows through the entire body and leaves its imprint on all energy systems. Metaphors for describing these 5 distinct rhythms were drawn from nature (water, wood, fire, earth, metal) and from the seasons (winter, spring, summer, late summer, autumn). Each meridian vibrates according to one of these 5 Rhythms — i.e. Bladder + Kidney = Water.
Although we have all 5 rhythms within us, a primary and secondary rhythm most heavily influences individual health and experience of this lifetime. For example, when in balance, the Water Rhythm easily flows through life, he is the philosopher, a wellspring of new ideas. When out of balance, the Wood Rhythm becomes commanding and experiences emotional and/or physical symptoms such as anger, jealousy, gallstones, tendonitis. Like the background music of a movie, your primary rhythm, in combination with the changing rhythms of life’s seasons, directs the tone and mood of your entire energy system and of the life being lived.
The 5 Rhythm Model provides a lens for understanding and working with chronic health issues, behavioral patterns and emotional challenges.
In this special topic class, we will:
